For the first time ever, you have the opportunity to purchase, or rather bid for the third 1987 Buick Regal GNX ever made.
GM still owns #001 and #002 models of the Buick GNX. The first is sitting at a GM collection with zero miles on it and the second is sitting in a museum in Flint, Michigan. So to say the least, this is the closest thing you will get to owning an original, classic Buick Regal GNX.
The car first came out in 1987, but it was put into storage in 1992 for 20-plus years while it sat unmodified and untouched.
The time it spent in storage required a complete review and inspection of the vehicle, making repairs and certain changes to restore it back to its original 1987 condition. #003 preformed a 0 to 60MPH, taking only 5.5 seconds and could reach a quarter of a mile in just 12.7 seconds.
The car is back to good as new and ready to hit the road again.
The #003 will be put up for auction at the Barret-Jackson Auction in early January of 2018, taking place in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a nice addition, the action for the car includes all the paperwork to go along with the classic, including all magazines and such of which the #003 has appeared in.
While this classic Buick will sure be worth it for the avid car collector or someone who has been waiting for this opportunity, it surely will be costly, the record for the sale of a GNX was $165,000. The #003 should push past that by a large margin.
More important however, will be to make sure you have the right Antique Auto insurance plan for your new classic car. Especially in this case, for an old and very rare car, it is crucial to protect your new vehicle.
Having the right Classic Car insurance plan is so important, there are many great and honest plans throughout the Chicagoland area.
